Do you know the feeling of ending a meeting a little too early to go home, but a little too late to go back to the office? Have you already your coffee limits full and do not want to go to a café and be obligated to buy just another cup? Last time we were in a situation like this with my colleagues, we wanted to try out the UrbanOffice and since we were in the city centre we went to the MeetinPoint on Lasipalatsi’s second floor. The UrbanOffice spaces can be utilized for short term working and you can come alone and seek a quiet place, or have a meeting in an acoustic work space or in a co-working space. Helsinki city library offers these working and meeting spaces free of charge.
The walls on the picture are acoustic, and are very good at isolating the sound around you. I really liked the openness of the spaces in combination with the fact that you had just the needed privacy to have a meeting.
This was a great place for pop up work situations. If you are in a situation like this, you might want to check out http://www.urbanoffice.fi/en and book your own meeting space, or just pop by and sit by the window. From there you could once in a while look out the window to see the trams passing by and watch the people that always seem to be in a hurry. This is a place I really recommend for you to try out, as you run between meetings and have an hour to kill or as a change for working from your own office cube.
